【2025 年 9 月 23 日 新聞稿】垃圾收費多次暫緩至今近一年半，政府今日（9 月 23 日）再度宣佈延遲實施垃圾徵費。綠惜地球理解大環境對香港的挑戰，但擔心香港可能無法達致《香港資源循環藍圖 2035》中人均棄置量逐步減少 40% 至 45% 的目標，影響香港邁向碳中和的步伐。 鑑於每噸廢物的堆填成本已由 2013 年的 191 元漲至 2023 年的 367 元，十年升幅高達 92%，而石鼓洲焚化爐燃燒每噸垃圾的成本更高達 816 元，倘任由廢物量高踞不下，只會造成沉重的財政負擔。在沒有垃圾收費的「專款專用」的前題下，本會擔心處理廢物的成本影響公共財政，加上當局一直強調源頭減廢措施的迫切性，建議宜由政府場所帶頭推行，以彰顯減廢決心。
