Seven Brothers of Plastic From the birth of plastic to its journey through everyday life, this talk takes participants into the full story of plastic. While plastics have undoubtedly brought convenience to modern living, they have also become one of Hong Kong’s three major municipal solid wastes. Every day, more than five million plastic bottles are sent to landfills, turning the city into what feels like a “plastic village.” Even more concerning, microplastics have entered the food chain, posing threats to ecosystems and public health. This session offers a fresh perspective on plastics, using a light‑hearted and engaging approach to explain the challenges of plastic waste and explore possible solutions. Through stories and interactive discussion, participants will be encouraged to rethink the role of plastics in daily life and consider practical ways to reduce their use, contributing to both environmental protection and healthier living.
