Every day Hong Kong discards over 3,300 tonnes of food waste to landfills, amounting to more than 1.2 million tonnes in a year, equivalent to the weight of 80,000 double-decker buses. This astonishing figure can be cut right from our dining table. Our discussion will include ways to reduce and reuse food waste, and introduce the concept of low-carbon dining, which will encourage participants to select local and organic food to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions.
