Old clothing upcycling workshop In 2024, Hong Kong discarded 236 tons of domestic textiles every day, which is equivalent to the weight of about 13 double decker buses, a truly astonishing amount. Disposed textiles are not only a waste challenge but also contribute to a wide range of environmental issues. In this workshop, we will begin with everyday items and apply handcrafting skills to transform what was once useless into something useful, conveying the message of cherishing resources and reducing waste. By repurposing old clothing, participants will create bottle net bags or eco friendly carry bags while learning the principles of upcycling. Through this creative journey, participants will not only enjoy the satisfaction of making practical items but also gain a deeper awareness of sustainability and the importance of resource conservation.
